Mom of the Year right here --- It has been an entire year since I have posted anything on this blog about my sweet boys and family. So much to catch up on - guess I will just hit the highlights. It has been a year of change all right -- In August - Cade began Pre School at the Learning Barn in Brazoria. Since he had been with Ms. Nina for so long in an in home day care I was worried about his adjustment but --- why worry -- he is a little social butterfly and did absolutely amazing ALL year.
Then, in September we sold our home and moved to my mom's temporarily until our rent house was ready in November. It was nice to have that time with my mom and I know she enjoyed the boys being there everyday - but our rent house is home for now. We are looking at land and home in the next couple years to build our permanent home where the boys will grow up.
Cade played soccer for the first time this year and did great!! He loved scoring goals and going to practice -- I really have two little athletes on my hands.
And of course, we attended a LOT of football but we did make our first trip to Lubbock to watch #54 Wreck Em!! Plus a lot of Sam Houston games as well.
Holiday season was great -- spent lots of time with family. I gave in to Chad, and Cason received his first haircut shortly before Christmas. I made it 20 months without touching his beautiful blond curls and I miss them dearly, however, I must say -- he looks much more "handsome" with his big boy haircut!!
One very unique thing we did this year --- Cade was selected to participate in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's Mutton Bustin -- for those of you not from Texas -- he rode a sheep across the arena as long as he could. Well -- Cade received the only sheep that thought it was a rabbit and it jumped VERY high in the air. He made it past the first jump (but was hanging on to the right side of the sheep) and prior to the sheep's second jump -- he was a goner. But is was SUCH a great experience for all of us and the HLSR committee members were so nice to him and all of the little Mutton Busters. We have also celebrated birthday's (those seem to come every year). Cade turned 5 in February and we had an Avenger's party at Jumping Jacks in Needville with lots of friends and family. Cason turned 2 in April and we celebrated at Shy Pond Mickey Mouse style.
The boys are growing fast. They tell you this when you first become a parent --- to cherish every minute. I try, I really do. I don't want them to grow up and not want to hug and kiss me every night. Cade is the best bed time cuddler -- but keeping up with these two is definitely a chore. Keeps me busy and on the go -- but I am so blessed.
Although this doesn't begin to cover our year, these were just a few
of my favorite moments and memories. Hope you enjoy them too. I will try to update at least quarterly so there isn't so much Thoe overload all at once!! Here are a few pics to leave you with...

- I am a working mom of two beautiful boys and a wife to an amazing husband. We married in 2005 and added to our family in 2008 when we welcomed our oldest son Cade David in February. We recently welcomed our second son in April of 2011 - Cason Dane. Currently I am a counselor at Brazoswood High School, but my ultimate goal is to get out of education and into the business world - which was my first career goal back in college. I started this blog in order for family and friends to keep up with our children and busy little family.

Elmo Say, Elmo Say... "Happy Birthday Cason"
Yes, that's right - my baby boy is one year old and we celebrated Sesame Street style today at our house with many family and friends! A while back I found a picture of this awesome Sesame Street cake and cookie monster cupcakes and one of my old cheerleaders who is a senior this year makes cake pops and cupcakes -- so I asked her if she thought she could do it (even though Saturday was her senior prom she agreed) and I am so glad!! She did a fantastic job and they tasted amazing!
Cookie Monster Cupcakes
This is the picture I found... And this was his actual cake!! (Like I said -- Amazing)
I was so happy with the cakes -- the blue icing though --- did a number on the kiddos!! Glad they all ate outside!
Cade had a blast in the bouncy house - while Cason was just entertained by watching all the people. We did have a play date inside with cousin Camryn and Baby Paige -- they were more his size! And it was a no hold bar when it came to cake time for Cason --- we had to have a quick bath afterwards.
Just getting started!!
Before the clean up!!!

Spring Has Sprung
Well - I often tell Chad that I wish the 6 weeks I get off in the summer was actually in March - April. I absolutely love Spring - just wish I could subtract the Texas mosquitoes. Obviously I haven't updated in a little over a month, but I think the life I once knew is no longer. Cade is now in T Ball - so our weeks have consisted of practices, pictures and now games. Not that I ever felt like I was able to come home and relax but now what "down" time I did have is long gone. I wouldn't change it though - I want to always be busy with my boys and have them involved.
Cason is growing like a weed and I don't want to think about the fact that in two weeks he will be a year old. That is completely insane to me and I just want to freeze them both where they are. They are so loving to their momma and daddy and knowing that one day that will change breaks my heart.

I have tried to narrow down the pictures to update you on -- but is always so hard to just pic a few. But here are the past two months -- enjoy. Eleven months old! :( Cade's First T Ball Game (This was his cheering section!!) Thanks to eveyone that came out!

Chuck E Chaos
Well, on Thursday my baby boy will be 4 years old! Where has the time gone?? Sometimes when he talks to me I feel like I am talking to an adult. We hosted his 4th birthday today, February 12th, 2012 (which would have been my Nanny's 90th birthday) at Chuck E Cheese in Lake Jackson.
Cade had a ton of family and friend come and celebrate with him today and he enjoyed every minute of it. He has been looking forward to his Chuck E Cheese party for months now and the antcipation paid off. He played a ton of games, ate cake, danced and enjoyed the ticket blaster (he came out with one ticket in his hand). Luckily his birthday crown caught quite a few others!
All of the screaming kids paid off to see how much fun he had!! Here are a few birthday celebration pictures!!

Challenges and Blessings
2011 was a very trying and tough year for me personally. Reflecting back on the year though I know that each trial made me and my family stronger and God also sent many blessings our way. Below I am just sharing some of my memories - good and bad from the year - a recap of sorts.
January started 2011 off with my mom's double masectomy - and during surgery her doctors came out to inform me that her cancer had spread and more treatments would be needed. Five days after my mom's surgery we lost my Nanny. She battled dementia for many years and hadn't been herself for quite sometime - however that didn't make it any easier. I shared a picture below of Nanny and I at my wedding.
My mom lived with us for the next month during her recovery. She was in a lot of pain and had to keep drains in her sides for longer than the doctor had expected.
February brought on Cade's 3rd birthday day - which we celebrated at Nani's house with a Thomas the Train theme and an actual train the kids could ride.
March -- my mom started her 16 weeks of chemo treatments (8 treatments -every other Monday). My friends hosted me a sweet little baby shower as well during March. March is also rodeo time and I remember Cade's excitement with the ferris wheel and them not allowing me to ride with him because I was obviously quite pregnant.
April - on the 2nd (I believe) my sister in law was put in the hospital with mild contractions she was having with our neice who wasn't due until July. Needless to say they decided to keep Lynsie in the hospital until Camryn was born. On the 8th - we went into the hospital early that morning for our scheduled C Section to meet our 2nd baby boy - Cason Dane. (A definite blessing) Cason by far made any challenges we had this year worth while and brough in the shining light we all needed.-- Later in April - my cousin who is 10 years older than me - had a little girl - Riley Breann (20 days younger than Cason). Chad's step brother Michael and his wife Mindy also had a baby boy in April.
May - I had to go back to work from maternity leave and we also participated in the Sobotik Strider 2nd Annual walk in support of CF.
June - Busiest Month By Far!! My mom's last chemo treatment was June 6th!!! Chad and I celebrated our 6th anniverary with a small getaway to L'Bearage du Lac in LA. (I refused to go to far because Cason was still so small). Chad also started his new job at Brazoria Telephone. We spend Father's day at Sea World with Cade. Cade also participated in his first Vacation Bible School. June 29th - Corey and Lynsie were finally blessed with their beautiful baby daughter, Camryn Grace.
July - This may have been our least exciting month of the year because I can't currently recall anything.
August - Back to work for Mommy and Cason started day care at Mrs. Nina's. We also celebrated my 30th birthday at the riverhouse.
September - Texans football - Sam Football - and a little B'Wood football! We actually spent the 10 year anniversary of the Sept 11th attacks at a Texans football game and it was very humbling to see the tributes done there and around the world. Makes me very proud to be an American. My mom also had her final surgery and is on the road to a full recovery. And we will continue praying for no relaspe.
October - Halloween with the boys and Camryn and seeing all of them in the cute little outfits.
November - Had a great Thanksgiving
December - We spent a lot of time at Sam Houston State playoff games!!! Took Cade to the Christmas celebration at Sea World and celebrated the birth of Jesus with our family. Santa was also a big deal this year -- Cade was finally not scared of him and actually went to see him 3 times!!
Although the year started off quite rough -- we have so much to be thankful for. Sometimes I have to remind myself that ultimately God knows the plans he has for us. --- Jeremiah 29:11
Here's to a great 2012!

Happy Birthday Jesus!!
Well, we made it through Cason's first Thanksgiving and Christmas!! Always such as busy time but so worth it.
We did Christmas at my dad's house on Thursday, then Friday Chad and I took Cade to the Sea World Christmas Celebration while my mom watched Cason and this was by far one of my favorite parts of Christmas this year. I loved the shows and it really put us in the Christmas spirit. I also loved that they made things about CHRISTmas and the birth of Jesus and weren't afraid of any reprecussions from someone that may not celebrate Christmas. We will definitely spend a Christmas in the future at Disney or somewhere like that!
Friday for Christmas Eve we spent the afternoon at Chad's dads, attended Christmas Eve service and came home for Christmas here at our house with my mom. She stayed the night with us (which really helped because it allowed Cade to sleep in his bed at least half the night while Santa came) and then finally we spent Christmas afternoon and evening at Chad's moms. BUSY BUSY BUSY!
So today, Chad was off and we all lounged around the house and enjoyed all of the kids new toys.
Sorry for all the pictures but I had a hard time narrowing them down (and they are in no order)!
